Joyce Maria Kasiama has been named one of HBCU Times’ 14 HBCU Graduates to Watch for 2026.
An award-winning media personality, producer, communications strategist, and global youth leader, Kasiama is a Baltimore, Maryland, native and a proud graduate of Delaware State University.
She earned her degree in mass communications with a concentration in digital media production, building an impressive record of leadership, service, and media excellence throughout her collegiate journey.
Kasiama served as the Sensational 69th Miss Delaware State University. She also held the titles of Miss Junior, Miss Freshman, and Miss Congo USA, becoming the youngest queen to represent the Democratic Republic of the Congo on international stages.
Her work has extended well beyond campus. As a keynote speaker and advocate for cultural empowerment, Kasiama has addressed audiences at the United Nations and other global forums.
Through her media platform, Joyce On Air, and her work as a television anchor, producer, and interviewer, she uses storytelling to elevate underrepresented voices, celebrate culture, and inspire the next generation of leaders.
Her accomplishments in media, leadership, cultural advocacy, and public service make her a standout member of HBCU Times’ 2026 Graduates to Watch class.
