Voorhees University Graduate Darren Jean-Francois Named One of HBCU Times’ 14 Graduates to Watch
Darren Jean-Francois has been named one of HBCU Times’ 14 Graduates to Watch for 2026, earning recognition for his exceptional academic achievement, leadership, athletic excellence, and commitment to service.
Originally from Union, New Jersey, Darren is a proud graduate of Voorhees University, where he graduated summa cum laude while distinguishing himself as a scholar-athlete and campus leader.
Before transferring to Voorhees University, Darren attended Denmark Technical College, where he graduated as valedictorian. During his time there, he earned NJCAA All-Academic honors in men’s basketball and received numerous recognitions for leadership, scholarship, and community engagement.
His accomplishments at Denmark Technical College included participation in the Male Initiative Program, serving as Mr. 1947 of the Royal Court, recognition as a Presidential Strada Scholar, membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and selection as an Honors College Scholar.
After transferring to Voorhees University, Darren continued building on that foundation of excellence. He excelled both academically and athletically while serving in several campus leadership roles and earning recognition as an NAIA Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete.
This fall, Darren will continue his educational journey at the University of South Carolina, where he has been accepted into graduate studies in Sport and Entertainment Management while simultaneously pursuing a Master of Business Administration through the prestigious Darla Moore School of Business.
His commitment to academic excellence, leadership, athletics, and community service has earned Darren Jean-Francois recognition as one of HBCU Times’ 2026 Graduates to Watch.
