Fayetteville State Graduate Jayden Batiste Named One of HBCU Times’ 14 Graduates to Watch
Jayden Batiste has been named one of HBCU Times’ 14 Graduates to Watch for 2026, earning recognition for his academic excellence, servant leadership, resilience, and unwavering commitment to inspiring others.
A proud graduate of Fayetteville State University, Jayden graduated summa cum laude with a 3.89 GPA, becoming the first college graduate in his family. Throughout his collegiate journey, he distinguished himself as a scholar, mentor, and campus leader while remaining dedicated to serving others.
Behind his accomplishments is a story defined by perseverance. Just three months into his freshman year, Jayden experienced the devastating loss of his mother. Determined to honor the dream they shared, he completed his first year with a perfect 4.0 GPA and continued to excel academically despite unimaginable adversity.
During his time at Fayetteville State University, Jayden earned numerous honors, including seven consecutive Chancellor’s List recognitions, the FSU Men of Excellence Academic Award, two Student Affairs Distinguished Leadership Awards, two Matriculation Institute Man of the Year Awards, and recognition as a UNCF Toyota Scholar.
His leadership on campus included serving as Male Vice President of the Matriculation Institute, Mister NAACP, and Mister Delta Iota for the Delta Iota Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, where he supported student engagement and campus initiatives.
Jayden also became a Spring 2025 initiate of the Delta Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, continuing his commitment to scholarship, leadership, perseverance, and service.
As a first-generation college graduate, Jayden hopes his journey encourages others to believe that faith, resilience, and purpose can create opportunities that change families and communities for generations.
His remarkable achievements have earned him recognition as one of HBCU Times’ 2026 Graduates to Watch.
